Terms of use
Effective November 4, 2026. Above Soulutions, LLC, Franklin, Tennessee.
These terms are the agreement between your church and Above Soulutions, LLC, which makes Above Church. They say what each of us does, what isn’t allowed, and what happens if something goes wrong. They go with our Privacy page, which says how we handle your people’s information.
The short version
- Your church’s records belong to your church, and what members write belongs to them. We keep it safe and use it only to run Above Church for your church.
- It’s free during the beta. After that, your church pays one monthly price from our Pricing page, and nothing is charged until your church picks its band and says yes.
- There’s no minimum time. Your church can stop whenever it wants, and take a copy of its office records with it.
- Your church is responsible for what it puts in and sends out, and for who it gives a sign-in to.
- We work hard to keep Above Church running and safe, but we can’t promise it will never have a problem. If something goes wrong, the most we’d owe your church is what it paid us in the past 12 months, or $100 if that’s more. During the free beta, that’s $100.
Who these terms are between
“Above Church,” “we” and “us” mean Above Soulutions, LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company in Franklin, Tennessee.
“Your church” means the church whose account it is. The person who creates your church’s account agrees to these terms for the church, as does a Church Admin who agrees in Back Office. By agreeing, each one tells us your church has allowed them to agree for it.
Your church office and your members use Above Church through your church. They don’t agree to these terms themselves; your church answers for how its sign-ins are used. What we do with each person’s own information is on the Privacy page.
How your church agrees
When you create your church’s account, you tick a box to agree to these terms and to Privacy. At a church that was already using Above Church before these terms began, a Church Admin agrees once, the next time they open Back Office.
The beta
Above Church is in its beta. The tools are built and beta testers use them, and we’re still finishing a few things. Online giving hasn’t yet been tried with real gifts.
During the beta, Above Church is free. We’ll tell your Church Admins at least 60 days before the beta ends.
Paying, after the beta
- Your church pays one monthly price, set by how many adults your church gives a sign-in, from the bands on our Pricing page. Every tool comes in every band, with no add-ons and no setup fee.
- Nothing is charged until your church picks its band and says yes. If it doesn’t, nothing is charged. Before your church says yes, we’ll tell it how and when the bill is paid.
- Your church’s price changes when it moves to a new band, or if we change our prices (below). We’ll tell your Church Admins before it does.
- If we ever change our prices, we’ll tell your Church Admins at least 60 days ahead, and your church may stop before the new price begins.
- Nothing is charged for any time after your church stops.
Your church’s information
- Your church’s records belong to your church. What members write in Prayer and Messages and in Encouragement belongs to them. Your church lets us keep it all, show it to the people your church allows, and send it to the companies listed on Privacy, only to run Above Church for your church.
- We never sell it, and there are no ads in Above Church.
- When your church asks for help, or to keep Above Church safe and working, our support staff may look at what they need, as Privacy says. Changes we make for your church are recorded in your church’s Audit Log.
What your church is responsible for
- Its records: keeping what a church should keep about its people, and following the laws that apply to it.
- Sign-ins: giving a sign-in only to people who should have one, giving each person in the office only the permissions they need, and taking a permission away when someone leaves the office. Your church doesn’t give a sign-in to anyone it knows is under 13.
- What it puts out: its website, bulletins, emails, forms and posts are its own. It must have the right to use what it puts there, such as photos, music, videos and any Bible translation other than the World English Bible and the King James Version, which Above Church serves itself.
- Its emails: sending church email only to its own people and to those who asked for it.
- Its bulletin: reading it before it prints or sends it.
- Its web address: keeping its own domain registered and paid for, where it uses one.
- Its privacy words: your church’s website and app have a Privacy page that tells visitors about the visit mark and the counts, and links to ours. Anything your church says about privacy must agree with them.
What isn’t allowed
- Anything against the law, or that hurts people, such as threats, harassment, or sharing someone’s private information to harm them.
- Sending email to people who aren’t your church’s own and didn’t ask for it.
- Trying to see another church’s information, get around a permission, or break into Above Church. If you find a way in that shouldn’t be there, please tell us. We’re grateful.
- Overloading Above Church on purpose, or using a program to copy information out of it.
- Selling or renting Above Church to others, or copying it to make another app.
If something breaks these rules, we may stop it, and we’ll tell your Church Admins why.
Online giving
- Where your church turns on giving, gifts go straight to your church’s own Stripe account, under Stripe’s own agreement with your church. Above Church takes nothing from them. The card company’s fee for each gift, which Stripe takes, still applies, and a giver may choose to cover it where your church allows.
- Above Church never holds your church’s money. Your church handles refunds and disputes itself, in its Stripe account. Each giver can download a yearly statement of their own gifts in your church’s app.
- In Above Church, only each giver and the people your church gives a Giving permission can see who gave and how much. Your church’s Stripe account keeps its own record of each gift, which we can look up, as Privacy says.
Altus, the office assistant
- Altus is off unless we turn it on for your church and one of your Church Admins agrees on its first screen.
- Altus uses AI, and AI can be wrong. Nothing Altus suggests is saved until someone in your office confirms it, so check it first.
- Each church has an allowance each month, and a larger one in its first 30 days. When it’s used, Altus comes back when the next one starts, and every other screen keeps working.
Our part
- We run Above Church, keep it safe as Privacy says, and keep copies of it in case something is lost.
- If someone gets into your church’s information who shouldn’t, we’ll tell your Church Admins as soon as we know, and what we’re doing about it.
- We answer your church’s questions, and we aim to write back within one working day.
- We keep making Above Church better, so screens and tools change. If we’re going to take away a tool your church uses, we’ll tell your Church Admins ahead of time.
- Sometimes Above Church may be down for a short time, for example while we fix something. We work to keep that rare and short, but we can’t promise it never happens.
When your church stops
Your church may stop at any time. A Church Admin writes to us, and once we mark your church as leaving:
- your church can’t change anything, and it takes no more gifts;
- your Church Admins can download a copy of your people, households, bulletins, events and form answers on Export in Back Office;
- 90 days later, we delete everything, and the sign-ins that belong to no other church. Only a record of what was changed and when stays, with no names or words in it. Our backups of it are gone within 30 days after that. We remind your Church Admins a week before.
Until the 90 days are over, your church can change its mind and stay.
When we may stop
We may pause or close a church’s account if it seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or, after the beta, doesn’t pay. Unless we must act at once to protect people or Above Church, we’ll tell your Church Admins first and give your church a chance to put it right. A church whose account we close gets the same copy and the same 90 days as a church that leaves.
If we ever close Above Church itself, we’ll tell every church at least 90 days ahead, and each can download its copy.
What we can’t promise
We give Above Church “as is.” Apart from what these terms and Privacy promise, we make no other promises about it, such as that it will suit every need or never have a mistake. Above Church isn’t legal, tax or accounting advice.
If something goes wrong
- Neither of us is responsible to the other for losses that come indirectly, such as lost income or lost gifts.
- The most we’ll owe your church for anything about Above Church is what your church paid us in the 12 months before, or $100, whichever is more.
- If someone makes a legal claim against us because of something your church posted through Above Church, such as on its website, in a bulletin or in an email, or because your church broke the law, your church will cover our reasonable costs of it.
- These limits don’t apply where the law doesn’t allow them.
Law and disagreements
These terms follow Tennessee law. If we disagree about something, we’ll first try to work it out by writing to each other for 30 days. If we can’t, the state courts in Williamson County, Tennessee, decide it.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell your Church Admins at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and change the date at the top. If your church doesn’t agree, it may stop before then. If it keeps using Above Church after, it agrees to the new terms.
The rest
- These terms, Privacy and the prices on our Pricing page are the whole agreement between your church and us.
- If one part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still stands.
- If one of us waits to use a right under these terms, it doesn’t give it up.
- Your church may not hand its account to another organization without asking us first.
